The lights flicker on the run way,
The captain is taking me home,
Another journey, another day,
To live far away is the norm,

//

Now I am homebound,
Back to the town I grew up in,
Can’t wait to touch the ground,
It feels like absolving sin,

//

But what exactly is home?
When you spend more time abroad,
Is it your personal dome?
A bubble where your baggage unloads?

//

The landmarks have changed,
The slangs have evolved,
Will I look deranged?
Seeing memories dissolved,

//

But if there is one thing I learn,
Is that nothing is constant,
It’s the past is what I yearn,

The memories and the dead that won’t return
