It irks me every time,
When people defend banality,
They think that’s the modern man,
Stripped down to what THEY think is essential

//

It feels like a crime,
When they try to rid philosophy,
The poetry and art that keep me sane,
Attempts to crush all potential

//

They promote it as scientism,
Attach the biggest names of science,
Don’t question the metaphysical,
The irony? Scientists came from these questions

//

The pursuit of rationality is absent,
So we all have to show our defiance,
This pursuit should be eternal,
So we be aware and put caution,

//

Don’t the tell that art has no purpose,
That literature couldn’t inspire,
Imagine if we had no Gene Rodenberry,
Then who sets the yardsticks, the goals?

//

So who clears up the noise?
Whose paintbrushes made you inquire?
So do you really want a limited library?
Do you want to get stuck in one person’s controls?
