When you brought me to this world,
My life was one big empty canvas,
I was your little precious pearl,
Now you inspired me for this verse
//
You sheltered me from the sun,
For the heat was uncomfortable,
You poured everything for your son,
Your love was unmatchable,
//
You often made me wonder,
“How exactly did you manage?”
Balancing us and your career,
Despite being disadvantaged,
//
You then decided to go to university,
Despite having us to care for,
Something to remember when lazy,
She had exams, assignments AND CHORES
//
When we walked into the Cathedral,
Rubbing our eyes at Daddy’s funeral,
I thought it was the end of the world,
How silly was I, to forget I was your pearl
